The Goal...

I’m passionate about fashion, visual storytelling, and thoughtful design. With a creative eye for layout, photography, and aesthetics, I’m inspired by the way travel, culture, and style shape unique experiences and perspectives. I love creating work that feels both visually compelling and intentionally crafted.

I'm Maddie

Hello, my name is Madison Garcia, and I am a recent graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln with a degree in Advertising and Public Relations and a minor in Fashion Merchandising. Born and raised in Omaha, I developed a strong interest in creative expression and visual storytelling, which continues to shape both my personal style and professional goals.

My career interests center around public relations with a strong emphasis on creative storytelling, particularly through photography and visual media. I recently launched a podcast, Keepin It Real, on Spotify and am currently working toward establishing my own photography business.

During my time at UNL, I completed my first documentary, The Man, The Myth, The Bass, which follows the story of a man and his TikTok-famous pet bass named Gus. This experience pushed me outside of my comfort zone and allowed me to adapt to new environments while developing a versatile skill set through hands-on journalism and storytelling.

My background in fashion merchandising has encouraged me to explore the fashion industry more deeply, shaping the creative direction I hope to pursue in my future career. Ultimately, I aspire to build a career that combines public relations, photography, fashion, and travel, allowing me to connect with people and cultures through creative work.

The Vision

Following my time at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, I am pursuing a career in Advertising and Public Relations with a strong focus on graphic design and visual communication. I am passionate about creating thoughtful, visually compelling work across branding, layout, and digital media, with an emphasis on clear and engaging storytelling.

My experience includes a graphic design internship with H7 Biocapital, as well as work as a graphic designer for the Daily Nebraskan, where I developed skills in editorial layout, branding, and fast-paced content creation. In addition, I have experience in web design, further expanding my ability to create cohesive visual systems across both print and digital platforms.

I am particularly interested in creative environments that encourage innovation and allow for strong conceptual thinking, where ideas can be translated into purposeful design solutions that connect with audiences.

Alongside my design experience, I have explored fashion as a creative influence and remain open to opportunities within the industry, including brands and editorial teams such as Vogue, whose work continues to inspire my understanding of visual storytelling.

Ultimately, I am driven by the opportunity to work in dynamic, creative spaces that also allow for travel and cultural exploration, which I consider an important part of my long-term career path.
